Scranton

Two things automatically come to mind when you think of Scranton, PA:  The Office and Coney Island Texas Hot Dogs….ok , well maybe not the second one, but apparently it is a pretty well known landmark there in Scranton, despite the fact that the name makes no sense.  Anyway, it turned out that our 5 hour drive from Woodbridge, VA actually turned out to be 4 hours, so we found ourselves in Scranton at 7 AM, hyped up on 5 hour energy and Mountain Dew, with an hour to kill….what to do….what to do….

Well, the sleep-deprived nerds in us seemed to come out at that point and we decideed that it would be a great time to see all of the Scranton “Office” landmarks….yeah, I know, but it’s Ben and me that we are talking about here.  So voila, our Potomac Chocolate Co. “Office” tribute:

Once we found all of the landmarks with the help of YouTube on our Droid phones (it wasn’t hard since Scranton is slightly bigger than a truckstop), we finally made our way to the rendezvous point and waited for the melanger to show up.  Both of us were so eager to get the melanger, we were worried that our enthusiasm was too high.  Ben expressed to me later than he thought there was a 25% chance that it wouldn’t happen, and I don’t think either of us was prepared to deal with the drive home in complete rejection.  Fortunately for us, the melanger showed up and the money exchanged hands.  The five hour drive home seemed to fly by as we tore through Pennsylvania and Maryland as though we were running with something “hot”.  As soon as we got home, we plugged the melanger in, and with our collective breath held, we turned it on….and it worked!  So now we have only to wait for the beans to get here, which should be any day now, but when they come, we are now ready!
