The Secret Chocolatier Visit and Review
As I announced in my previous entry, Potomac Chocolate is now available at The Secret Chocolatier in Charlotte, North Carolina. This past week, I was passing through Charlotte with my family on our way home from visiting New Orleans and Atlanta, so we decided to stop by and say hi.
I had a great conversation with Andy Ciordia, the owner, about the world of chocolate–specifically the world of small American chocolate makers and all the exciting things going on.
Before we got back on the road, we all picked out a few truffles, and I picked up a bar made from from my friends and fellow chocolate makers, Madre. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by and try the coconut truffle. It’s incredible. You could pick up some Potomac while you’re there, too. 🙂
On a related note, Andy posted a great review of my Upala 82% bar. Here’s a little bit from it:
On a percentage basis this chocolate is probably one of my current favorites. It’s flavorful, dark, bold, and the bitters are so far removed it’s really amazing at 82%.
